Barbara Major, Saint Thomas Health Services

Barbara Major is a community organizer and trainer with over twenty years experience in many local, national, and international community development efforts. She is Executive Director of Saint Thomas Health Services, a full-service neighborhood medical center, and the only primary medical facility in the St. Thomas Irish Channel Community of New Orleans. Located one block away from its original location within the St. Thomas Housing Development, the Clinic thrives within the cultural context of the African-American Community in which it is situated and under whose direction it proudly serves. With her first-hand experience of addressing health disparities, Barbara continues to be an outspoken community leader on the rebuild in New Orleans.  sthsnnola@aol.com
